Rubén Francés, principal investigator of our Group, contributed to the meeting with an interesting talk on the role of LSECtin in advanced chronic liver disease, commenting the latest results of current projects of the laboratory and pointing out the importance of the liver-gut-brain axis in progression of this liver disease.

The event concluded with the announcement of the PhD research award ‘Professor Amparo Estepa’. This recognition honours the contribution made by the professor in Biochemistry, researcher and deputy director of the IDiBE, Amparo Estepa Pérez to the institute and its PhD Program, and is awarded to the research and training trajectory of the best PhD student of the IDiBE. This year our senior PhD student Sebastian Martínez was awarded by his progress in his doctoral thesis and formative skills acquired during his PhD program.

Congratulations Sebas!!
